Pragati Scholarship Programme

Program:

Financial hardship, not ability, is still the most common reason a talented student in Vijayanagar doesn't make it to college. Running between FY 2023-24 and FY 2024-25, the Pragati Scholarship Programme removes that specific barrier, covering education costs so merit decides who continues and who doesn't. A significant share of recipients are first-generation learners, students whose families have no prior experience navigating higher education, which makes the scholarship's role closer to opening a door than simply funding one.

Measurable Outcomes:

240 students were supported across the two-year period, with the impact extending to nearly 960 family members. Beyond the individual scholarships, the programme has become a meaningful contributor to social mobility and long-term community development in Vijayanagar district.
