Vinod Handa Scholarship Programme

Program:

Higher education in Uttarakhand's more remote districts often ends at the district border, not for lack of ability but because the cost of leaving home to study is out of reach for many families. Running between FY 2023-24 and FY 2024-25, this scholarship covers that gap for students pursuing further education across a range of disciplines, easing the financial pressure that would otherwise force a choice between a family's finances and a student's future.

Measurable Outcomes:

254 students were supported across Uttarakhand during the two-year period, with more than 1,000 family members benefiting indirectly. The programme has contributed to increased educational attainment and stronger long-term aspirations among young learners in communities where continuing past school was often not treated as a realistic option.
