Also run with Magic Bus, this programme trains residents of Sripura and Kherual panchayats in business planning, financial management and enterprise development, then supports them through the harder part: actually opening and running a shop. It's structured around a specific, measurable end point rather than open-ended skilling. 26 beneficiaries in Sripura have successfully established their own shops, and 23 in Kherual have theirs running. Forty-nine businesses now operating is a modest number next to some of this portfolio's larger figures, but each one represents a household that has moved from training to self-employment, which is a harder threshold to cross than the number suggests.
